Columbia JVBC 2018-2019 Season

Caylee Shelton (2018) at Marymount University

Caylee SheltonCaylee Shelton was another fantastic player who came up through the ranks of Columbia JVBC's club players. An All-Conference Hitter at Hanford HS, Caylee is now punishing the ball at NCAA Div. III Marymount University. Caylee and the Saints have qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships in just a few days.

Go get them Caylee!

Breanna Shaffer (2018) at Eastern Oregon University

Breanna ShafferBreanna Shaffer ruled the net for years at Columbia JVBC (and Kennewick HS), but now plays for Eastern Oregon University in LaGrande, OR. We doubt anyone is surprised that Breanna already has 41 kills for the Mountainees as they chase another conference title and the playoffs again. Congratulations Breanna on all your success!

If you have the chance to see EOU Volleyball in action this season, don't miss out!

National Signing Day!

Today was the opening date for signing National Letters of Intent to play next fall in college. In honor of this event, we're catching up on Columbia players who have chosen their college destination since last season.

Catelyn Linke has committed to play for Eastern Washington University next fall. Catelyn first came to Columbia at age 11. Her high flying/hard hitting intensity will be a lot of fun to go see up the road in Cheney.

Leanna Shymanski will be joining Catelyn at Eastern Washington University. Leanna's sparkling personality (and blonde hair) have made her just as easy to spot on Columbia teams for years as has her dominating presence in the middle of the court.

McKaidan Moore will be the first former Columbia player to ever play at University of West Alabama. McKaidan played on the first U-12 team Columbia ever formed, and has been a leader on every team since.

Tasha Hungate is headed to Evergreen State College next fall. Another outstanding Columbia Middle Hitter, Tasha will be a dominating presence for the Geoducks. (Go Speedy)

Ashton Olin will be playing for California State University Sacramento in the fall. A terrific setter, Ashton will put on quite a show running the attack for the Hornets.

Ashlin Orosco chooses Walla Walla

Ashlin OroscoAshlin Orosco (Columbia 18-Black, Pasco HS) has decided to play for Walla Walla CC in the fall. Columbia's last Senior this year to make her choice will join the squad at WWCC, and we're sure she'll have a great experience there.

Congratulations Ashlin! It's going to be even more exciting to watch Walla Walla CC play now!

Bethane Nelson chooses Evergreen State

Bethane NelsonBethane Nelson (Columbia 18-Black, Chiawana HS) has chosen to play for Evergreen State College in the fall. Bethane will be a great addition to their program, and we expect she will shine attending school at Evergreen.

Congratulations Bethane! (We know you've made Briawna proud.)

Morgan Kline to UC Riverside

Morgan KlineMorgan Kline (Columbia 18-Black, Eisenhower HS) has made a verbal committment to attend the University of California Riverside next fall. Morgan's choice of UC Riverside means a full-ride NCAA Division I scholarship. Congratulations Morgan for joining the long list of Columbia players to move on to Division I play. (We know Morgan and Maloree will find a way to connect next season, since their university choices are just a few miles apart.)

Congratulations Morgan!

Maloree Kupp to University of Redlands

Maloree KuppCongratulations to Maloree Kupp (Columbia 18-Black, Sunnyside HS) who is headed to the University of Redlands in California next season. We know Maloree will enjoy Southern California, and we know she'll do great as a student athlete at a private university.

Congratulations Maloree!

Anna Grigsby to Colorado College

Anna Grigsby (Columbia 18-Red/Black, LaGrande HS) will be at Colorado College in the fall. Colorado is getting a real volleyball force in (MH) Anna, and we're certain she'll be a standout in everything she does there. Congratulations Anna on your choice, and your hard work!

Hannah Hulse to Pacific University

Congratulations to Hannah Hulse (OH, Columbia 18-Black) who will be at Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR in the fall. We know Hannah will love Pacific, and we're sure Pacific will love Hannah. We'll be excited for the opportunity to see Hannah playing for Pacific in the future. Congratulations Hannah!
