Columbia JVBC 2019-2020 Season

As much fun as Columbia 16-Black was to watch at the Las Vegas Classic, their sister Columbia 17-Black team was even more impressive! Despite missing a player who couldn't make the trip, and several injuries that kept key players out at different times, these ladies fought (and won) against some very elite competition. Columbia 16-Black played in the single U-16 Division at the LV Classic, but Columbia 17-Black played in the very tough Open Division of U-17 against the most elite teams in the field. By playing in the Open Division, the ladies of 17-Black were constantly seen by college coaches from all over the country (it's much tougher to be seen in the weaker Club Divisions for U-18 or U-17), and our players have often been contacted later by coaches who first discovered them in Las Vegas.

Columbia 17-Black used an undefeated Day 2 of the tournament to power their way to the Flight 2A Semifinal, and finishing (just like 16-Black) 53rd overall, but in the much larger 232 team U-17 Open/Club field.
