Columbia JVBC 2017-2018 Season

2017 Columbia 14-RedColumbia 14-Red hadn't lost a pool play match in two straight tournaments, a streak dating back to late March. So maybe they were caught off guard when they lost a hard fought pair of sets in their opening match for the final day of Power League. That shock carried forward, and despite forcing a very tight tie-breaker, the Columbia ladies found themselves 0-2 to start their day. The 14-Red team worked through their struggles, forced themselves to return to playing the points and not watching the score, and their day began to turn around fast. First, they began to turn on the power in their third pool play match, including a ferocious 25-16 win to close out the match. They absorbed the lesson again in their first crossover, dropping a tough opening set before once again pouring in the points to take the next match. We bet this team carries their momentum into this weekend!

Columbia 14-Red scores: lost to North Clackamas 14-2 Red 25-27, 22-25; lost to Mt Hood 14-1 Black 20-25, 25-18, 11-15; defeated Wave 14-1 Gold 26-24, 25-16; defeated Adidas NW 14-3 Force 18-25, 25-16, 15-6; lost to West Coast 14-1 13-25. Comeback Division Consolation Finalists; 2-3, 5-6
