Columbia 18-Black's day already had a dire look at the start of INK due to news that a player had fallen ill at the hotel that morning. Then, during their first warmup period, a second player went down injured. Now badly short-handed, the 18-Black ladies ralled together and went to work. First, they swept their power format pool despite two tie-breakers, then they went to work on the Gold bracket. By the time they reached the tournament semifinal, they'd won four straight and were ready to face their sister U-17 team. Both Columbia teams battled for the win, but the 18's wouldn't fold in this one. After their third tie-break win of the day, it was just not enough left in the tank as they fell finally in the Championship Final to finish 2nd (of 27 overall.) Great work ladies, and get well everyone!
