Columbia 17-Black looked like they might just sweep through the 17 USA division at Far Westerns. They were right on track over day one when the won every match. Day two was a different story when they suddenly lost back-to-back matches and their advancement to the Gold bracket looked to be in jeopardy. The 17-Black ladies righted the ship by winning two straight tie-breaker matches to reclaim a position in the Gold bracket. Bracket play saw them stay in form and reach the 17 USA Championship match before finishing 2nd in the division. Their 8-3 run in 17 USA made the 17-Black ladies 26th overall in the 104 team U-17 field. Congratulations!
This was 17-Black's third earned bid to Nationals over this season (a club record), and second time earning a 17 USA bid. The 17-Black ladies will be fun to watch this summer in Indianapolis. It's time to make your plans to watch this team there!
