Columbia 14-Black swept their pool at the Walla Walla Sweet Spike to move to the Championship bracket, then ran their win streak to five matches before falling in the Championship Final match. Along the way, the 14-Black ladies won two extra points tie-break sets, but a THIRD tie-break set in the Championship final that also went into extra point proved too much. We know these ladies will be able to push over the top next time. Great job!
Columbia 14-Red meanwhile had a tough start. Drawing the eventual tournament champion as their first opponent, they struggled to recover and finished 3rd in their pool, holding their original seed. 3rd meant Consolation, and the 14-Red ladies won their semifinal to reach the Consolation Final, but were unable to pull out the final win. Keep pushing forward ladies!
