Columbia 12-Black takes 3rd at Spikefest

Columbia 12-Black continues to improve their skills as they play through their Evergreen Region season. Sunday, the U-12 girls were playing in Leavenworth where they took 2nd in their pool to advance to the Championship bracket again, finishing 3rd overall. Keep it up girls!

Columbia 15-Black climbs at Power League

Columbia's three teams competing in the U-16 divisions at CEVA Power League were all in action on Saturday. 16-Black edged upwards to #23 overall (among 128 teams) and will continue to play in the Bronze division for March play. 16-Red will be the top seed in the Conquest division after finishing #45 overall. Columbia 15-Black had the best day and climbed up into the Diamond division and #36 overall. Congratulations!

Columbia 17-Black wins Sunrise Championship

Columbia 17-Black swept the day at the Columbia Sunrise tournament on Sunday winning the Tournament Championship. Columbia 18-Black fell in the Championship Quarterfinals, but came closer than anyone else to knocking Club Director John L's 17-Black ladies for a set loss. Both teams continue to get stronger as their season builds. The Championship won by the 17-Black ladies was the 4th Championship for the club this season.

Columbia 16-Black wins Sunrise U-18 Consolation Championship

Columbia 16-Black was playing up with their older sister teams in the Columbia Sunrise U-18 tournament today. The 16-Black ladies won the U-18 Consolation Championship!

Columbia 14-Black continues Power League campaign

Columbia 14-Black played Sunday in the Power League Diamond division. The 14-Black girls finished third in their pool, but lost their important crossover match in a tension filled tie-breaker. The Columbia girls rebounded however to win their final seeding match, and will be a #1 seed in their pool for March Power League.

14-Black scores: lost to YVBA 14-1 Blue 10-25, 16-25; defeated Webfoot 14-3 Green 25-23, 25-22; lost to Athena 13-1 Gold 12-25, 25-18, 9-15; lost to YVBA 13-1 Blue 17-25, 25-23, 14-16; defeated Hiki No 14-1 25-22.

Columbia 15's/16's open Power League qualifying

Columbia's last three teams played their Power League qualifying matches on Sunday. Columbia 16-Red finished 2nd in their pool, lost their first crossover match, but took their last match in thrilling extra-points tie-breaker fashion. (Thrilling finishes seems to be becoming a habit for this team.) Meanwhile, Columbia 15-Black was winning their pool and a first crossover tie-breaker, before givving up their final crossover in yet another tie-breaker match. Columbia 16-Black played plenty of tie-breakers as well, winning one and dropping two in pool play, then winning the first of their two crossover matches.

Columbia 12-Black takes 3rd at NCW Lights Out

Columbia 12-Black took 2nd in their pool to reach the Championship bracket Saturday at the NCW Lights Out tournament in East Wenatchee. Columbia's youngest team couldn't fight past the Championship Semifinal, and finished 3rd in the 8 team tournament. Good work girls!

Columbia 18-Red moves to Gold for Power League

Columbia's U-18 teams opened Power League qualifying on Saturday. Columbia 18-Red suffered close defeats with the #1 & #4 teams overall, but still managed to advance their seeding to #12 (qualifying for the Gold Division.) Columbia 18-Black played a little short-handed and had a rougher go of it, slipping four places to #23 overall (qualifying for the Bronze Division.) Both teams are well positioned for the Power League season.

Columbia 16-Red wins Lights Out Championship

Columbia 16-Red - Lights Out ChampionsColumbia 16-Red played in their second EV tournament at the NCWVB Lights Out Tournament in Wenatchee on Sunday. The Red girls dropped a match in pool play, but found another gear in championship bracket play to sweep their way into the Championhship Match. The Columbia ladies won the Tournament Championship in thrilling extra points tie-breaker action to claim the club's first championship of the season. Congratulations all!

Columbia had four team participating in the Matt Hartner Memorial Classic at the University of Oregon.

  • Columbia 18-Red - schedule and results - has held their #17 seed from the beginning and finished #17 overall, Bronze Division Quarterfinalists.
  • Columbia 16-Black - schedule and results - climbed to #20 overall and were Finalists in Flight 1.
  • Columbia 15-Black - schedule and results - finished #66 overall and were Quarterfinalists in Flight 8 for 16 Open.
