Columbia is taking care of business in Reno, NV this weekend, with four teams competing in the Far Western National Qualifier. We'll post updates all weekend. You'll have to trust us on results below until the tournament has them restored. And, they're back up online!)
Columbia 18-Black: Schedule and Scores; has won it's first two three matches in Friday pool play. (18-Black entered at #49 of 112 teams in 18 American [the top division], and #49 of 136 U-18 teams overall.) Friday afternoon update: Dominated opening pool, and has jumped to #8 overall in the tournament. Saturday afternoon evening update: Now on a six seven eight match unbeaten streak. Played (and won) in the challenge brackets for the chance to go to Gold. Will play against #1 at 10am Sunday.
Columbia 17-Black: Schedule and Scores: remains undefeated after two three matches in Friday pool play. (17-Black enters at #1 [Yay!] of the 28 teams in 17 USA, and #25 of 104 U-17 teams overall.) Friday afternoon update: Swept their opening pool, and remain #1 in 17 USA. Saturday update: lost their second and third matches of the day to fall into a three way tie for 2nd in their pool. Roared back to win two straight tie-breakers and roll into the Gold bracket on Sunday!
Columbia 16-Black: Schedule and Scores; begins Friday play at 4pm. (16-Black enters at #21 of 56 teams in 16 USA, and #53 of 288 U-16 teams overall.) Friday update: A tough start in a very tough division sees them open 0-3. Saturday update: Undefeated on day two. Way to go ladies!
Columbia 15-Black: Schedule and Scores; begins Friday play at 4pm. (Columbia 15-Black is playing UP an entire age level at 16 American! They enter at #79 of the 168 teams in 16 American.) Friday update: A tie-breaker loss to #6 in their division shows this team can compete. They go 1-2, but should have gained lots of confidence! Saturday update: Undefeated on day two as well. These ladies are here to play.
