The girls of Columbia 13-Black opened Columbia's 2017 tournament schedule by reaching the Championship Semifinal at the Leavenworth Spikefest on Sunday. Despite being the only U-13 team at the U-14 tournament, the Columbia girls went 5-4 in pool sets to finish first in their pool, defeating NCWVBC 14 Red 25-17, 25-15, 22-25, 25-12, and then barely losing a five set match to Kodiak 14 Black 24-26, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 5-15. Winning their pool earned the Columbia girls a bye into the Championship Semifinal where they fell to Bi-County Wolfpack 14 Black 15-25, 20-25, and finished 3rd overall. The youngest team in the club proved they can play with the U-14 teams in our Region. Great job girls and coaches!
