It's Silver for Columbia 15-Black at Stars & Spikes

Columbia 15-Black played their way into the Silver Bracket at the Power League style Stars & Spikes in Spokane. The Columbia ladies fell late in a tough quarterfinal tie-breaker to the evenual bracket champions. (Every loss Columbia had was by tie-breaker, and they defeated the eventual tournament champions!) Keep pushing forward ladies!

15-Black scores: lost to Prodigy 15-1 25-18, 22-25, 8-15; defeated Splash 15-1 Black 25-22, 25-19; lost to Kahiau 16-1 Navy 23-25, 25-19, 10-15; lost to St Maries 16-1 Black 15-25, 25-20, 10-15. (1-3, 5-6)

Columbia 14-Black reaches Gold at Stars & Spikes

Columbia 14-Black reached the top Gold Division at the Power League style Stars & Spikes tournament in Spokane. The Columbia ladies reached the tournament quarterfinals before bowing out for the day. Keep pushing ladies!

14-Black scores: defeated Volei Extreme 25-11, 25-11; defeated 7B 14-1 25-20, 25-22; lost to Kahiau 14-1 Navy 15-25, 25-23, 6-15; lost to Apex 14-1 Synergy 15-25, 25-22, 7-15. (2-2, 6-4)

Columbia 13-Black goes for Silver at Stars & Spikes

Columbia 13-Black reached the Silver Championship Semifinal match in the power league format Stars & Spikes tournament north of Spokane. Along the way, they knocked off a boys team, always an accomplishment at their age-level. Keep it up girls!

13-Black scores: lost to VIP 14-1 21-25, 16-25; lost to North Idaho 13 Gold 17-20, 20-25; defeated Cats 14 Boys 23-25, 25-9, 15-12; defeated O-Town 14 Black 25-18, 25-?; lost to Troy 28-26, 16-25, 11-15. (2-3, 4-7)

Columbia 12-Black roars into March

Columbia 12-Black roared into March by qualifying for the Championship Bracket at the Stars & Spikes tournament in Spokane. It's great to watch our youngest players learning to improve their individual skills and prepare to join our older teams in the future. Way to work girls!

12-Black scores: defeated Spokane Sky 12-1 Black 25-21, 30-28; defeated Apex 12-1 Destiny 25-19, 25-14; lost to Idaho Impact 12-1 22-25, 18-25; lost to Crossfire 12-1 18-25, 17-25. (2-2, 4-4)

Columbia 12-Black dropped into the consolation bracket at the Sideout Classic, but reached the Bracket Championship Final before losing to the host club. Columbia's youngest team closed out February by going 2-3 for the tournament.

Columbia 18-Black finishes in the top 25 overall at Las Vegas Classic

Columbia 18-Black played their way into the elite ranks of the top teams at the 30th annual Las Vegas Classic. 18-Black reached the quarterfinals of the 18 Open Silver A bracket, ranked 25th overall for the tournament having climbed 30 spots since Saturday morning.

Columbia 17-Black finishes in top 15 at Las Vegas Classic

Columbia 17-Black finished in the top 15 (13th of 136) of 17 Club at the Las Vegas Classic. The 17-Black ladies nearly took over #1 on Sunday night during a thrilling three set challenge match, only falling 10-15 in the third. Columbia compiled an impressive 6-4 record, and three of their four losses were in third set tie-breakers.

Columbia 16-Black wraps Las Vegas in Flight 1

Columbia 16-Black ripped off two wins in their opening pool, including an opening upset of the #18 seed in 16 Club. After climbing to 33rd on their opening day, 16-Black fell back to #46 on the second day. The Columbia ladies put up an incredible fight in their Monday opener, but fell 14-16 in a third set tie-breaker to close their tournament run.

Columbia 13-Black fights to last whistle of Sideout Classic

Columbia 13-Black suffered two tough moments during a long day at the Spokane Sideout Classic. The first came in their second match when a tough 14-16 tie-breaker forced them into the consolation bracket. But after winning their first two bracket matches, Columbia's second-youngest team found themselves in the final. Unfortunately, their second tough moment came in a final tie-breaker for the championship, when the Columbia girls fell just short. Playing in the last match of the day, and their sixth of the competition, these girls fought right to the last. Keep pushing forward girls!

13-Black scores: defeated Deer Park Spikes 14 25-12, 25-12; lost to Cats Silver 14-3 25-21, 14-25, 14-16; lost to ZZU 14 National 11-25, 11-25; defeated ZZU 14 Regional B 25-14, 25-7; defeated ZZU 14 Regional A 25-27, 25-21, 15-10; lost to Shockwave 14 Black 22-25, 26-24, 10-15. (3-3, 8-7)
