Columbia 14-Black reaches TC Kickoff Final

Columbia 14-Black swept five straight opponents to reach the Championship match at the TC Kickoff tournament on Saturday. After an incrdibly long day, they just didn't have enough left at the end, and fell in a tie-breaker to settle for 2nd overall (of 20 teams.) Good work ladies. Keep powering forward!

14-Black scores: defeated KB 14-2 Pink 25-12, 25-14; defeated O-Town 14 Purple 25-2, 25-7; defeated Sunnyside 14 Black 25-1, 25-10; defeated Lokahi 14 25-6, 25-13; defeated Cats 14 25-16, 25-21; lost to KB 14-1 Blue 13-25, 25-22, 10-15. (5-1, 11-2)

Columbia 12-Black wins Lights Out Championship!

Columbia 12-Black, Lights Out ChampionsColumbia 12-Black is still undefeated against other U-12 girls teams. On Saturday, they swept undefeated to the NCW Lights Out Championship in Wenatchee. Congratulations players and coach!

12-Black scores: defeated NCWVBC 12-1 25-12, 25-12, 25-23; defeated Kryptonite 12-1 Blue 14-25, 25-15, 25-23; defeated Kodiak 12-1 25-18, 25-21; defeated Kahiau 12-1 Navy 22-25, 25-12, 15-9. (4-0, 9-2)

Columbia's four oldest teams will be playing at the Hartner Memorial this weekend in Eugene. The links below will allow you to follow their results in semi-real time as they battle throughout the weekend. We'll post some updates about their progress as well. Good luck ladies!

18-Black: Schedule and Results (seeded 2nd in their pool, #23 overall of 108 teams) - University of Oregon; Update: loses a tough tie-breaker to #6 and remains on track at #23 overall. Update2: opens day 2 by knocking off the #5 seed. Update3: finishing second in their day 2 pool, they move to #10 and the Gold playoff bracket.

17-Black: Schedule and Results (seeded 3rd in their pool, #83 overall of 108 teams) - University of Oregon; Update: sweeps first day pool and climbs to #57 overall. Update2: falls to #47, but upsets #29 and is likely to climb again. Update3: holds at 3rd in their second pool, and qualfies for the Silver bracket playoffs.

16-Black: Schedule and Results (seeded 3rd in their pool, #33 overall of 125 teams) - University of Oregon; Update: edged upward to #32 overall after going 1-2 for the opening day. Update2: drops a tough tie-breaker to the top team in their day 2 pool, and continues to hold at #32. Update3: couldn't advance their seed on day 2, but will play in the Gold bracket playoffs on Monday.

15-Black: Schedule and Results (seeded 4th in their pool, #57 overall of 125 teams) - University of Oregon; Update: missed the chance to move upward, but held their postion at #57 overall. Update2: finished third in their day 2 pool, and will play in the Bronze bracket on day 3.

Columbia 14-Black roars back at 2nd day of Power League Qualifying

Columbia 14-Black went 4-1 on day two of CEVA Power League Qualifying Sunday. The 14-Black ladies knocked off the #19 team (of 137 overall) in their last match of pool play (and later defeated the team that had started the day at #22), but after a previous loss to #35, they took third in their pool on tie-break rules. 14-Black rebounded to sweep both their crossover matches in the afternoon. They should be seeded #35 #28 going into the first full round of Power League later this month. Congratulations to the players and coaches!

14-Black scores: defeated TEAM Hiki No 14-2 25-23, 27-25; lost to Webfoot 13-1 Gold 21-25, 21-25; defeated Trailsend 14-1 Leilani 25-20, 23-25, 15-6; defeated Silver Foxes 14-1 Black 25-12, 25-18; defeated Webfoot 14-3 Green 25-17, 22-25, 15-10. (4-1, 8-4)

Columbia 12-Black takes 3rd at Block & Awe

Columbia 12-Black remains undefeated against girls teams for their season, but ran into a team of boys in Yakima on Sunday. Suffering a single loss, the youngest Columbia team took 3rd overall. Great job girls!

12-Black scores: defeated Team Yakima 12 Blue 25-10, 25-8, 25-17; defeated Goldendale 25-23, 25-11, 25-21; lost to Team Yakima Boys 17-25, 22-25. (2-1, 6-2)

Columbia 15-Black reaches Selah Championship Final

Columbia 15-Black reached the Championship Final (finishing 2nd), and Columbia 16-Black took third at their opening tournament of the season in Selah on Sunday. Both teams defeated every opponent they faced except for the eventual tournament champions. Good work ladies, and keep fighting!

15-Black scores: defeated CW Elite 16-1 25-20, 25-17, 25-5; lost to Team Yakima 15-1 Gold Elite 9-25, 20-25, 16-25; defeated Club Selah 16B 16-25, 25-17, 15-9; defeated Team Yakima 16-1 Gold 25-11, 18-25, 16-14; lost to Team Yakima 15-1 Gold Elite 11-25, 19-25. (3-2, 8-6)

Columbia 13-Black takes 3rd at Rev It Up

Columbia 13-Black opened up the second day of the season by traveling to Selah for the Rev It Up tournament. Our 13's swept their pool before falling in a tough semifinal and finishing 3rd overall for the tournament. Congratulations players and coaches!

Scores: defeated Shockwave 14-2 Green 25-15, 25-23; defeated Team Yakima 14-4 Blue 25-11, 25-15; defeated CW Elite 14-1 25-16, 21-25, 15-8; lost to KC Thunder 14-1 White 13-25, 6-25.

Columbia 14-Black opens 2016 Club Season

Columbia 14-Black started the 2016 season off on Saturday at CEVA Power League. By one of those quirks in Power League scheduling, the 29th seeded 14-Black ladies wouldn't face a single opponent from outside the top 27 all day. With an additional handicap of not being able to play a Libero, the 14's still played tough and fell just short of pulling off an upset or two. 14-Black remains in #29 (of 137 teams overall.)
